Do I need to put down a deposit on the Romance Packages?
Yes, upon the signing of the Contract between both parties, the Romance Couple will pay to the Resort a non-refundable deposit of (A) 35% of the Romance Package event will take place in 2007, or (B) 50% of the Romance Package price if the event will take place in 2008. If the required non-refundable deposit is not paid within 48 hours, the reservations will be cancelled and the event dates will be made available to other parties. The balance of the Romance Package must be paid no less than 30 days before the arrival of the Romance Party to the Resort. All extras to the Romance Packages can be paid onsite with our Romance Specialist.
What is the difference between a SYMBOLIC CEREMONY & a CIVIL CEREMONY?
The Symbolic Ceremony, which all of our Wedding Romance Packages include, is a ceremony that does not "legally bind" the couple and is performed by a Non-Denominational Minister. This ceremony is a beautiful allowing for the exchange of vows & rings. The Civil Ceremony gives you the "Marriage Certificate" with legally binds the bride & groom. This Civil Ceremony has an additional price to our Romance Packages and requires that you be in the country in which you are to be married a minimum of 3 full business days. The Symbolic Ceremony allows the couple to get "legally" married in their hometown, before or after their stay at our Resort, without the worries of rushing to obtain all of the legal requirements needed to get married in a foreign country (i.e. paperwork, translations, apostille seal, medical certificates, blood work, etc.).
Can I change/ switch the Romance Packages Inclusions?
The Romance Packages were carefully designed to make it simple for you to add on your special personalized touches. Unfortunately, you cannot change the inclusions but you can add on anything that you would like to them! Take one basic package & make it your own!
When do we meet with the Romance Specialist?
Upon your arrival, a Welcome Letter will be sent to you specifying the day & time of your Pre-Wedding Meeting with our Romance Specialist. During this meeting you will take the site inspection of the grounds, discuss final menu & decor details.
Will my Marriage Certificate be valid in the USA & Canada?
Foreign marriage certificates from Costa Rica, Dominican Republic & Mexico are recognized in the USA & Canada, expect to receive your marriage certificate no later than 120 days after your civil ceremony. Translations & registration of the Marriage Certificate will have to be processed by the couple upon the receipt of the Certificate. Please contact our Romance.
